May 2012 El Mirage meet

After fumbling with an intermittent crank trigger problem last year we set a record at the El Mirage season opener.
We went 224.395 on a 211.260  record in E/FS

There were 148 entries:   101 cars and 47 bikes.

There were 18 records:    7 bikes and 11 cars.

Saturday start meet:  07:50, end:  15:00, runs 174.  Moderate tail winds.

Sunday   start meet:  08:03, end:  13:54, runs 147.    Heavy head winds.

There were 5 spins, 14 turn outs and 2 turn ins, and 2 guests.

Everyone had the opportunity to run 4 times.  Altitude Density average 3200 feet.

The courses were not too good – too loose.

One candidate for the “Dirty” 2 Club.

We had an engine expire shortly after leaving the line

There were 103 entries:   63 cars and 40 bikes.

There were 16 records:    3 bikes (1 pending) and 13 cars.

There were 130 starts:  78 cars and 52 bikes.

Start Meet:  07:53, End Meet:  15:27

There were 1 spin, 7 turn outs and 6 no calls, and 3 guests

Everyone had the opportunity to run 2 times.  Altitude Density average xx00 feet.

The temperature was in the 80s with heavy cross winds after 10am.

The course was not too good – too loose.

There were 87 entries:   56 cars and 31 bikes.

There were 15 records:  4 bikes and 11 cars.

There were 156 starts.

Everyone had the opportunity to run at least three times.  Altitude Density not reported.

The weather was hot (low 100s) with no wind, except for one dust devil at the start line.

5 turn outs and 3 spins.

Paula Burns driving 203 missed a record by 0.005 mph

One candidate for the “Dirty” 2 Club.

This run was the first Flathead to go over 200mph @ El Mirage

There were 109 entries:   67 cars and 42 bikes.

There were 25 records:  8 bikes and 17 cars.

There were 124 starts.

Everyone had the opportunity to run at least once.  Altitude Density average 5000 plus feet.

The weather was warm, mid 100s on Saturday and low 100s on Sunday with 30 mph winds in the afternoon that closed us down about 1:45.

3 turn outs, no spins.

There were 152 entries:   100 cars and 52 bikes.

There were 23 records:  6 bikes and 17 cars.

There were 332 starts:  175 on Saturday and 157 on Sunday.

Everyone had the opportunity to run 4 times on the weekend.  Altitude Density average 5100 feet.

The weather was great, warm at night and 90s on Saturday and 100s on Sunday with variable winds on Saturday and light winds on Sunday.

Saturday showed some wear by end of day but Sunday the course was great.   3 spins:  1 before the lights and 2 beyond.
